As part of Nike’s brand-wide storytelling franchise“Birthplace of Dreams”, we told the story of Virgil Van Dijk’s rise to the top.

We took Virgil back to his first pitch in Breda (Netherlands) to reflect on the challenges he's overcome - illness, rejection, pressure - to become the player he is today.

In addition, as a celebratory reactive for if he won the Ballon D’or, we made him a custom Nike Destroyer jacket complete with a VC and patches that tell his story. Unfortunately, he finished second - the coat was never seen.
